Viewership for professional women’s softball skyrocketed 183% this season, with an average of 198,000 viewers. The Utah Talons won the 2026 Athletes Unlimited Softball League this past weekend in the first-ever professional softball game shown live on network TV. The six-team league launched in 2024 and just completed its second season. Commissioner Kim Ng previously spent four years as general manager for Major League Baseball’s Miami Marlins and was the first woman to serve as general manager of a major American men’s professional sports team. League CEO Jon Patricof says the AUSL is on the verge of joining the “ranks of the leading pro sports leagues.”
