Young women view health care very differently than young men

Younger Canadian women are much more skeptical of the health care system than young men. A Blue Cross survey finds that only 82% of Gen Z women expect a doctor’s appointment to go well, 13% less than men. Only two-third of women say they expect support from their family doctors, significantly less than reported by men. Blue Cross says “this suggests that younger women are entering adulthood with very different expectations of health care than young men.” “It challenges us to consider whether we are actually making progress in women’s care,” says Pacific Blue Cross President and Ceo Sarah Hoffman, “and whether the next generation is being equipped with the confidence and voice to advocate for their health.”
