Xelia Health, an AI-powered precision health platform, launched nationwide today with $4.7 million in pre-seed backing and a 15,000-woman waitlist, aiming to close a persistent gender gap in medical diagnostics. The platform screens for more than 130 conditions specific to female biology, including endometriosis, perimenopause and PMOS. The San Francisco-based company notes that women drive 80% of consumer health care decisions but women’s health receives just a fraction of clinical research funding. “Women have been trapped in a diagnostic dark age, routinely dismissed by the health care system,” Co-founder and CEO Kelly Lacob says. “Stalling necessary care and treatment results in prolonged suffering with chronic pain.”
