The CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics shows that 27.5 million Americans currently lack coverage, but public coverage for adults aged 18 to 64 dipped to 20.4%, down slightly from 2024. The report notes that the percentage of people under age 65 with exchange-based coverage increased 46% from 2021 to 2025. Hispanic adults were most likely to lack health insurance, followed by Black adults.
