College-educated dads are stepping up in the home. The American Institute for Boys and Men says those fathers have increased their time spent on housework and childcare by more than four hours since the pandemic, with college-educated dads spending slightly more than 10 hours per week on direct childcare. Non-college educated fathers spent about 5.9 hours. Many fathers are also working fewer hours outside the home. “I find early evidence of a gender convergence much different than that which preceded it,” writes the author, Ariel Binder, a research fellow at the American Institute for Boys and Men.
