WNBA star Brittney Griner is using her experience in a Russian prison to help others avoid the same fate. Griner, who spent 293 days in Russian custody for possession of 0.7 grams of medically prescribed cannabis oil, is a co-founder of Zennjet, a Los Angeles-based membership company that helps both domestic and international travelers navigate different laws and regulations regarding prescription medications. The company notes that 10% of travelers have had their medicines confiscated, while one in nine were forced to cancel trips. “The rules may seem clear,” Griner says, “but local authorities can interpret them in different ways.”
