Olympic downhill skiing legend Lindsey Vonn has taken her talents back to the mountains this year, returning to the sport after retiring five years ago due to serious injuries. Now, though, Vonn has had a partial knee replacement and will test its limits as she competes again for Olympic Gold. Vonn had the surgery in April 2024, before which, she walked with a limp and was in constant pain. Now, she’s competing — and winning — races she never thought she’d be able to participate in again and has become one of the favorites for this year’s Winter Olympics. Medical professionals call it a testament to the advances in medical science and the ultimate test of the limits of orthopedic surgery.
