The WNBA, with its new collective bargaining agreement, garners an outsized share of the headlines in women’s sports these days, but the National Women’s Soccer League has become a viable economic engine in its own right. Forbes says the league’s 14 teams are worth an estimated $200 million apiece on average, a 49% increase from just a year ago. Three teams are worth more than $300 million, with Los Angeles-based Angel City FC the most valuable at $340 million. Forbes notes that expansion fees have increased significantly, with a new team in 2026 costing a record $205 million. The league was founded with eight teams in 2012.
