The JAMA Network has launched JAMA+ Women’s Health, a digital network that will offer expert interviews, podcasts and multimedia content focused exclusively on women’s health. Linda Brubaker, MD, MS, and editor in chief of JAMA+ Women’s Health notes that women have often been underrepresented in clinical trials, adding that the network will go beyond reproductive care to include genetics, cardio disease and cancer, among other topics. Women were rarely included in clinical trials until 1993. “This will improve discoverability and linkages for clinicians seeking specific information to improve the health care of their own patients,” she says. “We will improve health care outcomes.” The JAMA Network publishes 11 peer-reviewed medical journals.
