A company whose clients are 83% female has raised $8.5 million to advance the future of gastrointestinal and metabolic care. New York City-based Salvo Health says its hybrid, AI-enhanced care model offers brick-and-mortar clinics a continuous care platform that improves patient outcomes, noting that it now has agreements with more than 800 gastroenterologists. “We see gut health as a missing ingredient in women’s health and mental health progress in this country,” says Katie Reinier Peykar, a partner in investor Torch Capital. “The disproportionate impact of chronic GI burdens (are) on women, reflecting the legacy of stigma and gaslighting, especially around IBS and obesity care.”
