A new study from Flo Health, published in Menopause: The Journal of the Menopause Society, reveals that a staggering 34% of U.S. women aged 35 and older were confused about whether the symptoms they were experiencing indicated that they had entered perimenopause. The highest levels of uncertainty were in women aged 40 to 44 (56%), a time when many women experience severe symptoms. The research, in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, notes that “women entering the menopausal transition and experiencing the most severe symptoms are often the least likely to recognize that they are in perimenopause.”
