Though health-oriented chatbots (especially for women) are popping up everywhere, a growing number of Americans are turning to the internet rather than AI-generated chatbots for health information because of rising costs. The annual ADP Benefits Survey notes that 26% have skipped appointments to save money, while more than one-in-five have either skipped or reduced needed prescription medications. Two-thirds scour the internet for health information, compared to only 27% who use chatbots. Wellness behaviors, especially, have become top of mind. “Rising cost pressure is leading employees to make harder, and sometimes riskier, health care decisions,” the report says, adding that plans must become simpler and more flexible to help employees make cost-conscious choices.
