Barbie has conquered the runway, outer space and the silver screen and is now claiming the post office. The U.S. Postal Service previously launched a Barbie stamp but just unveiled a new series of 10 Forever stamps honoring the iconic Mattel doll created in 1959. Designed by Ethel Kessler, the colorful collection celebrates Barbie’s vast resume of more than 250 careers since her debut, including a vintage 1961 nurse wearing cat-eyeglasses, a 1986 astronaut clad in hot pink and silver lamé, a modern 2019 judge holding a courtroom gavel and a 2025 music star. “The original Barbie stamp has been one of our most memorable and beloved,” says Lisa Bobb-Semple, the Postal Service’s director of stamp services, “with appeal felt by Barbie fans young and old.”
