Two major U.S. employers have slashed family leave benefits in what The New York Times reports is “part of a larger trend.” Both Deloitte and Zoom have rolled back benefits, with Zoom reducing parental leave time for both mothers and fathers. Deloitte has cut benefits for just administrative staff, where women hold the vast majority of roles. While The Times says the cutbacks “don’t seem to be widespread” across the country, it notes that family leave benefits in general are no longer the corporate priority they once were. Some companies, including Starbucks, have even expanded parental leave benefits.
