Harvard has ended its long-running women’s research symposium over concerns that it focused too heavily on just one gender. The Harvard Crimson student newspaper reports that The Standing Committee on Women decided to end the 15-year event after pressure from leadership at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, adding that the event will now become gender-neutral. The paper last year reported on the university’s rollback of DEI programs “amid threats from a hostile White House.” Earlier this month, President Trump said he was seeking $1 billion in damages (up from a $500 million demand he made last summer) over what the administration considers the university’s failure to address what he calls its antisemitic practices.
