Hawaii is the best state for women’s equality while Utah is the worst. Personal finance company WalletHub ranked states based on workplace environment, education and health and political empowerment. Maryland, Alaska, Maine and Vermont round out the top five. In Hawaii, “men and women enjoy very similar conditions in the workplace, in schools and in politics,” the survey notes, adding that math scores in both the fourth and eighth grades are almost similar among both boys and girls. The income gap is smallest in Maryland, while women in Iowa have the smallest “executive positions” gap. Oklahoma, Texas, Idaho and South Carolina all finished at the bottom.
