Three cities in Texas and three in California have among the largest median gender pay gaps in the United States. An analysis by Business.com says full-time working women in the country earn 17% less than men, with women earning less in every U.S. state and in all but four of the 170 largest U.S. cities. The only cities where women’s earnings are higher are Glendale and Oakland, both in California; Yonkers, New York; and Fayetteville, North Carolina. Pay gaps are largest in some sectors of the financial services industry, in some engineering-related fields and among podiatrists.
