Women account for 83% of workers in the most “AI-vulnerable” occupations in 15 professions, including secretaries, office clerks and receptionists. The National Partnership for Women & Families (NPWF) also finds that three in 10 workers in those professions are women of color. “Right now, too many workers are navigating the use of AI in their workplaces without proper protections,” says NPWF Senior Fellow Tanya Goldman, adding that further studies of AI in the workplace are needed to ensure equity. “Lawmakers have an opportunity, and a responsibility, to set clear rules that both support the responsible use of these tools and protect workers from harm.”
