Women with high levels of commitment, resilience and proactivity — dubbed the “Resource Triad” by researchers — are eight times more likely to report high workplace wellbeing. The global study analyzed data from more than 43,000 women across 114 countries and also found that women who occupy managerial positions, particularly middle management, reported the steepest declines in mental health and higher rates of burnouts. Researchers suggest that organizations should invest in emotional intelligence training and not just structural policy changes to empower women leaders and prevent burnout, adding that “the squeezed middle finding reframes where organizational investment matters most.”
